Now more than ever, locally grown timber has an increasingly important role in our architecture, interiors, and built heritage. In recognition of this, Summerhill Timbers has spent the last 45 years planting, growing, and nurturing a range of specialty hardwood and softwood forests in the Papamoa Hills.

As each stand reaches maturity, trees are hand-selected and milled without treatment — preserving their full natural strength, colour, and character.

We mill premium-quality New Zealand-grown specialty timbers from our FSC-managed forests. Our timber is the natural choice for builders and architects who value sustainability and character.

We carefully dry and store our timbers, supplementing with selective summer harvests to bring new projects to life. Each timber has a unique colour and grain texture shaped by our coastal climate. We provide a sustainable local alternative to imported timber or composite materials. 

We supply three main timber species and offer straightforward, flexible solutions for creating standout timber features — whether you're after solid beams, custom flooring, wall linings, or bespoke features.
